People are flocking to Western Canada in numbers unseen during a third quarter since 1990, says The Vancouver Sun.
On Dec. 19, The Vancouver Sun reported that the Canadian population reached 33,441,300 in the third quarter, an increase of 129,900 since July.
Statistics Canada, according to The Vancouver Sun, attributes the increase to provincial programs that target potential immigrants. Most immigrants settled in Alberta, with British Columbia trailing closely behind.
This signals a change in the government’s and people’s priorities.
Aggressive promotion of Canada’s opportunities results from economical concerns. The large success of the programs allows Canada’s economy to survive at healthier levels than that of countries such as Germany, which also offers universal healthcare.
Incoming funds and workers improve the nation’s welfare.
